  1. That first story was from Guyaquil Ecuador. That's where I served my mission.

    1. I didn't know that, Chris. That's awesome. Thanks for commenting. I bet you are excited for the Quito Ecuador Temple. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I appreciate it. Hope you are well.

    2. My mission was the Guayaquil North Mission. I had several companions from the Quito area. We are all excited for Ecuador's second temple.

    3. That is wonderful to hear about, Chris! I am sure you probably already know this, but I wanted to let you know that my study about announced temples has demonstrated that the Church will probably never again have a delay in temple progress like the 14+ years between the announcement and groundbreaking for Ecuador's first temple. In fact, if my research indicates anything, I would be very much surprised if the Quito Temple did not have a groundbreaking prior to the end of 2019. I am hard at work on the edits I am making to my potential timeline for future temple-related events, and I will be posting that hopefully within this next week or so. Thanks again.

  2. Unrelated to this topic, but you seem to have a good amount of knowledge and resources. What is Elder Parrella's birthday? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

    1. Hey, Scott! Good to hear from you again. The last time you asked me about this, I reached out to my available sources for the information you requested, in addition to asking them what, if anything, would be done to mark President Monson's 90th birthday (now less than a month away) and whether or not President Monson would be able to speak at all during any of the remaining General Conferences that may occur during his tenure. I made that inquiry near the end of July. And I have not heard anything back since I was told that my question was being handed off to a specialist that would know the answers to those questions. In the interim, I have had some pretty significant health problems that have hindered my normal ability to function. Nothing to worry or be concerned about, but that is interfering quite a bit with my daily activities. When I haven't been keeping myself busy so I don't focus on that too much, I have been following up with my doctors. As a result, I have not been able to check my e-mail since Thursday or Friday last week. But as of that time, I had not received an answer to that question. I am working on it. Sorry it has taken so long. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are well.

    2. Sorry. I meant near the end of June. The fact that I have not heard back yet may be due to the holiday celebrations here in Utah (Independence Day and Pioneer Day). I will be looking into all of this more earnestly as I can. For now, sorry I haven't been able to find that information for you. I am working on it, though, if that is any consolation to you.

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.

At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.

I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.

And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.

Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
