Hello again, everyone! A stunning update on the Bengaluru India Temple may indicate that the temple's construction won't be stalled much longer. As the status update on that page explains, construction halted in late 2024. A new FCRA license (in India, FCRA stands for the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) has been issued by India's Ministry of Home Affairs, and frozen funds have been released by the Bank of India. The only thing remaining is for the Church to get local approval from India's GBA (Global Biofuels Alliance), which may or may not be a routine matter.
At any rate, from what I can gather, construction on the Bengaluru India Temple appears likely to be able to resume in the near term. However, because there is that one last approval to get before the Church can resume that construction, the Church of Jesus Christ Temples site has moved that temple down in the construction queue. It previously sat between the Teton River Idaho and Birmingham England Temples and is now positioned between the Vancouver Washington and Budapest Hungary Temples. I will evaluate how that changes the estimates I have most recently offered ASAP.
I invite you all to stay tuned here for my coverage of the latest updates from the Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples sites. I’ll be sure to pass word of those along to you all as soon as I learn about them. In the meantime, that does it for now. All comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated on any post at any time, as long as all such feedback is made per the established guidelines.

Also on this Friday, the Church News has shared how an original sunstone from the Nauvoo Illinois Temple wound up in that temple's Visitors' Center. And the Church News also explored how refugees became pioneers in Kenya.
ReplyDeleteThe Church News also shared the latest edition of "This Week on Social", which featured content from the following general Church leaders: Elders Quentin L. Cook, Neil L. Andersen, and Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, nad Relief Society General President Camile N. Johnson. Since the Newsroom has been down again most of the day today, any additional updates from the Church News or temple construction status updates will be shared here ASAP after I learn about them.
My thanks once again to you all.
It's the news we've been praying for in India. Also I'm hoping that with this weeks fast for worldwide religious freedom, we can remove more obstacles to missionary work, worldwide growth, and temples across this country and around the world.
ReplyDeleteHey, Chris! Thanks for taking time to comment on this. It is definitely an answer to prayers. You make a good point about hoping that the recent fast for religious freedom hopefully increasing those freedoms worldwide. We know that the Lord can open doors previously closed when fasting and prayer is involved. So I certainly hope that will be the case. The opening of 55 new missoons and the frequent things we are hearing about worldwide growth is certainly encouraging. I hope that will continue. And the day of miracles has not ceased. I hope we will continue to pray for those freedoms to spread worldwide. Thanks, Chris, for taking time to comment. I always appreciate hearing from you.
DeleteOn this Saturday, the Church News has shared a few new updates: an introduction to incoming Primary General President Rosemary K. Chibota; Church News editor Jon Ryan Jensen explains the lasting impression of single-serving prayers; and the text of the message that will be shared by Brother Dierrick Porter during tomorrow's 5,052nd episode of "Music & the Spoken Word". And once again, the Newsroom was down intermittently throughout the day, but I can confirm that there are no new updates from it today, therefore, any temple construction status updates will be shared here ASAP. My thanks once again to you all.
ReplyDeleteAfter what has been a very busy Sabbath Day for me, I am back to share the latest updates. We start with the Church News, which shared the inspiring story of how the first person baptized in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has now returned to that nation as a mission president. The latest edition of in Case You Missed It: Week in Review shared the top nine updates covered by the Church News within the last week. With our "Come, Follow Me" study centered on the 10 chapters of 2 Kings 16-25, the Church News shares what Church leaders have taught about those passages. And brief information has been provided about 12 recently-called stake presidencies, 3 for new stakes, and 9 for stake presidency reorganizations.
DeleteI am hopeful that more new temple leaders might be announced at some point this week. In the meantime, I am hopeful that major temple construction announcements will continue every Monday, but since we are in mid-July now (a typical recess month for General Authorities and General Officers), we'll have to see if the weekly announcements continue. If they do, you can count on my covering whatever is announced. My thanks once again to you all.
On this Monday, we are just a couple of hours away from the next anticipated major temple construction announcement. I will be sure to cover that if/when/as it happens. But for now, so far today, the Church News has just shared this new report that speaks for itself. My thanks once again to you all.
