BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: Renderings Released for 5 North American Temples; Site Location Revealed for the Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple

Hello again, everyone! We got the typical major temple construction announcement at 2:00 PM or so today. The Church has released 5 more renderings for North American temples that previously had site locations confirmed. The renderings released today were for the Mexico City Benemerito Mexico, Harrisburg Pennsylvania, Jacksonville Florida, Springfield Missouri, and Winchester Virginia.Temples.

Today's news release includes the relevant information about the square footage of each of these temples and where they will respectively be built, so I won't go into that. But I am hopeful that the 5 renderings may be in preparation for 5 subsequent temple groundbreakings at some point later this year or early next year.

The Mexico City Benemerito Mexico, Harrisburg Pennsylvania, Jacksonville Florida, and Winchester Virginia Temples appear to use some similar designs as previous temples in Mexico, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Virginia have used. Anyone else with comments on the renderings is welcome to share those thoughts below.

We now move on to the information about the Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple. Oddly enough, that does not include an estimated square footage this time. My estimate is a single-story temple of approximately 29,000-30,000 square footage. The temple will rise on a 1.56-acre site at Avenida Cordoba Esquina Reconquista, ciudad autonoma de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Stay tuned here for updates from the Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples sites. I’ll be sure to pass word of those along to you all as soon as I learn about them. In the meantime, that does it for now. All comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated on any post at any time, as long as all such feedback is made per the established guidelines.

BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: Groundbreaking Confirmed for Grand Rapids Michigan Temple; Groundbreaking Set for Cali Colombia Temple; Exterior Rendering Released for Tacloban City Philippines Temple

Hello again, everyone! The First Presidency shared groundbreaking news for the Grand Rapids Michigan and Cali Colombia Temples, and has released a rendering for the Tacloban City Philippines Temple. Since the report of the Grand Rapids Michigan Temple groundbreaking and the Tacloban City Philippines Temple rendering speak for themselves, all that remains is to detail the Cali Colombia Temple groundbreaking.

Ground will be broken for Colombia's third temple on Saturday, March 1, 2025, under the direction of Elder Jorge T. Becerra. Prior to today's announcement, Colombia's newest temple had its site announced the longest ago. That distinction now goes to the Cape Town South Africa Temple. This is the second groundbreaking announced for 2025, but it may not be the second to actually have a groundbreaking. It's possible groundbreakings announced after today could potentially take place before March 1.

For now, by way of comparison, last year, the second groundbreaking took place on March 9, so we're more than a week ahead last year, the third groundbreaking took place on June 1, I don't think we'll have to wait that long for the next temple groundbreakings. Based on what I'm hearing on my end, I anticipate a lot more temple groundbreakings being announced in the near future.

UPDATE: October 2024 General Conference Predictions & Results; Introduction to Initial Predictions for the April 2025 General Conference

Hello again, everyone! Although I anticipate the annousncement of the next major temple construction update during the 2:00 PM MST hour and I will do a new post featuring my analysis of that announcement whenever it is made and whatever it might entail, I have been asked some questions about the results of my predictions for the October 2024 General Conference, as well as some queries about how soon I might have my April 2025 General Conference predictions available for review.

This post comes in response to those inquiries. So let's start with the results of my October predictions. As you might recall, those included the  speaker lineup, projections for changes in general Church leadership, and a list of potential locations in which new temples could be announced. Based on my analysis of those results, I have scored them accordingly per the usual method. Rather than reviewing what that involves and entails, I invite anyone with questions in that regard to post them in the comments, where I would be happy to address them.

With that in mind, we move on to my initial predictions for the April 2025 General Conference. Those include the speaker lineup projections, my predictions for potential changes in general Church leadership and the figures for the 2024 statistical report, and a revised and expanded list of potential locations in which new temples could be announced. Again, I offer an open invitation to any of you to ask any questions you might have about these newest predictions. This is by no means the final version of those projections, so any changes I deem appropriate will be made based on your feedback.

BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: Groundbreaking Announced for Tacloban City Philippines Temple; Site Location and Exterior Rendering Released for Fairbanks Alaska Temple

Hello again, everyone! \As anticipated, the next major temple construction announcement has been made. This week, we got a groundbreaking announcement for the Tacloban City Philippines Temple and the confirmation of the site location (and exterior rendering for the Fairbanks Alaska Temple. Let's get right into those details:

The Tacloban City Philippines Temple will be the first to have a groundbreaking ceremony in 2025, Saturday, January 18, 20255, with GA Seventy Elder Michael B. Strong presiding, Other than the fact that next year;'s first groundbreaking is taking place roughly 9 days before the one-year anniversary of the first temple groundbreaking for 2024, I think we will have more groundbreakings next year than we did last year,

In reference to the Tacloban City Philippines Temple, it was originally announced in October 2021. with a site announced on March 25 of this year. Uniquely, this temple had a groundbreaking announced without the release of an exterior rendering. Not sure why that is, but I assume we will learn about an exterior rendering later.

We now turn to the Fairbanks Alaska Temple, originally announced in October of last year. The single-story temple of approximately 10,000-square-foot edifice will rise on a 7.59-acre site along Geist Road, Fairbanks, Alaska.. Aside from the note that this temple appears to be another modular one, I will leave it to others to comment on the rendering as they choose to do so.

Elder Dale G. Renlund Marks His 72nd Birthday

Hello again, everyone! I am back with a post in tribute of Elder Dale G. Renlund, who, as noted, is marking his 71st birthday today. Let's get right into all of that. Elder Dale Gunnar Renlund was born to Mats Ake and Marianna Andersson, in Salt Lake City, Utah, on this day in 1952. His parents had emigrated from Finland (Mats) and Sweden (Marianna) respectively in order to be married in the temple. In view of that, Elder Renlund grew up primarily speaking Swedish.

The fact that he did not speak English as a primary language gives him a certain degree of international appeal. In his teenage years, Elder Renlund lived with his family in Sweden while his father was a building missionary for the Church Several years later, Elder Renlud returned to Sweden, this time as a full-time missionary. Following his missionary service, Elder Renlund continued his scholastic endeavors at the University of Utah, where he earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and his M.D.

Approximately 3 or 4 years after he concluded his missionary service, he met and married his eternal companion, Ruth Lybbert, who was the daughter of another General Authority Seventy, Merlin R. Lybbert. Elder Renlund went on to do a three-year cardiology residency and a three-year fellowship in cardiology, both at Johns Hopkins University, and served as a bishop while he did so.

During that very same period of time, his wife was earning her law degree, and Ruth also gave birth to their only child, a daughter, Ashley. At some point in 1986, Elder Renlund became a professor at the University of Utah. From 1991 to the time of his call as a General Authority Seventy in 2009, he served as the medical director of the Utah Transplantation Affiliated Hospitals Cardiac Transplant Program.

In 2000, he was also appointed the director of the Heart Failure Prevention and Treatment Program at Intermountain Health Center headquartered in Salt Lake, while his wife was working as a law partner in the firm of Dewsnup, King and Olsen. In the Church, in addition to serving as a bishop, Elder Renlund also served locally as ward Sunday School president, high councilman, and as a stake president. From 2000 to 2009, Elder Renlund served as an area seventy.

He became a general authority seventy in April 2009, at the same conference in which Elder Neil L. Andersen was sustained as an apostle. The August after his call, Elder Renlund began serving in the Africa Southeast Area Presidency, which is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. He concluded that service as the area president from 2011 to 2014.

Just over a year after concluding that service (during which time he served in other general capacities at Church headquarters), he was the third man to be called to fill the three vacancies in the Quorum of the Twelve in the wake of the passing of President Boyd K. Packer and Elders L. Tom Perry and Richard G. Scot (with his call occurring the same day as that of Elders Ronald A. Rasband and Gary E. Stevenson).

Some have claimed (rightfully so, in my opinion) that since Elder Scott was the last of the three to pass away, Elder Renlund, as the last of the three new apostles called, was the one filling the apostolic vacancy occurring from the death of Elder Scott. Others may disagree on that, as is their right, but I think that is a fair statement.

Elder Renlund's apostolic call was significant for a few reasons. The calls of Elders Rasband, Stevenson, and Renlund made them the 98th, 99th, and 100th members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles called in this dispensation. There have been more men ordained as apostles, but only 102 of those men have officially served in the Quorum of the Twelve. There is another significant aspect of Elder Renlund's call.

As most of you are probably aware, at times in the past where 2 or more apostles have been called, tradition is that they will be called, sustained, and ordained according to their age, from oldest to youngest. That tradition, as has been the case a couple of times before, was slightly adjusted, as Elder Stevenson, almost three years younger than Elder Renlund, was called, sustained, and ordained as the senior apostle to Elder Renlund. That kind of thing is not in any way unprecedented, but it is a significant anomaly to note.

Given that all apostles from Elder David A. Bednar through Elder Renlund were born in the United States, some have taken issue with the Church for the perceived lack of diversity in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. But as was observed in this article, Elder Renlund's diverse background certainly qualifies him as having strong international ties and experiences. Elder Renlund has given a total of 17 addresses in General Conference, 2 of which were prior to his apostolic call (the second of which was given in the General Conference prior to the one in which he became an apostle.

It's also worth mentioning that, in view of Elder Renlund's 70th birthday today, only 3 of the 15 current apostles are now under 70 years old (Stevenson, Gong, and Soares). I am grateful to have been able to offer this birthday tribute in his honor, and am also grateful for his service. I gladly sustain him and the other 14 apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators. I continue to monitor all Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples updates and will be sure to pass word of those along to you all as they cross my radar. In the meantime, that does it for now. All comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated on any post at any time, as long as the offered feedback is made per the established guidelines. BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: Opening Arrangements Announced for the Abidjan Ivory Coast Temple; Rendering and Groundbreaking Date Announced for the Grand Rapids Michigan Temple; & Exterior Rendering Released for the San Joaw California Temple

Hello again, everyone! This afternoon at 2:00 PM, the First Presidency announced opening arrangements for the Abidjan Ivory Coast Temple and released a groundbreaking date and exterior rendering for the Grand Rapids Michigan Temple, and an exterior rendering for the San Jose California Temple. The renderings largely speak for themselves However, I did want to note that I thought an exterior rendering had already been released for the Grand Rapids Michigan Temple, but I may be mistaken.

With that said, let's turn our attention to the Abidjan Ivory Coast Temple's opening arrangements: A media day will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, followed by invited guest tours on Tuesday, April 29, and Wednesday, April 30. The public open house will be held from Thursday, May 1-Saturday, May 19, excluding Sundays. The temple dedication will follow on Sunday, May 25, in one session at 10:00 AM Greenwich Mean Time, under the direction of Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

And finally, the groundbreaking for the Grand Rapids Michigan Temple will occur on Saturday. December 7, 2024. with Elder Mathias Held, First Counselor in the North America Northeast Area, presiding. This will be the 14th groundbreaking this year, almost twice as many as we saw in 2023. I am cautiously optimistic that we will see a couple more groundbreakings by the end of this year, but that may be all she wrote.

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf Celebrates His 84th Birthday

Hello again, everyone! With today being November 6, Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf is rcelebrating his 84th birthday, so I am pleased to offer this post in tribute to him. Dieter Friedrich Uchtdorf was born to Karl Albert and Hildegard Else Opelt Uchtdorf on this day in 1940 in the city of Ostrava in what was known at that time as the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, but is now identifease t the Czech Republic. With his family twice becoming refugees, he grew up in Germany, where his family joined the Church in 1947.

Due to developing an early interest in airplane flying, he studied engineering, business administration, and international management, after which he joined the German Air Force in 1959, where he trained to be a fighter pilot. In 1965, he joined Lufthansa German Airlines as a pilot, working as an airline captain from 1970-1996. He held many responsible executive positions with German Airlines. He reported feeling discouraged about having to learn English, but has also described how he was able to do so.

He married Harriet Reich (whom he had met when the missionaries brought her and her family to Church while he was a young man) on December 14, 1962,and they both have different recollections of the details whereby they actually got together). They raised two children and now have several grandchildren, along with a few great-grandchildren. He served as a stake president before his call as a General Authority. During that time, he gave an instrumental interview to the press in which he tackled tough topics related to his faith as the Frankfurt Germany Temple prepared to open.

He was subsequently sustained as a General Authority on April 2, 1994, and was initially assigned to the Second Quorum of the Seventy. Roughly two years later, on April 6, 1996, he was sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy. He became a member of the Presidency of the Seventy on August 15, 2002 and was sustained a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on October 2, 2004 and ordained an apostle 5 days later (becoming the eleventhth apostle born outside the United States).

On February 3, 2008, he was set apart as the Second Counselor in the First Presidency to President Thomas S. Monson. Although 12 men born outside the United States have served as apostles, he became only the sixth apostle born outside the United States to be called to serve in the First Presidency. At the time of his call to the First Presidency, he was the thirteenth in apostolic seniority. During the period of almost a decade in which he served alongside President Monson and First Counselor President Henry B. Eyring, the deaths of six apostles senior to him meant he had become the seventh in apostolic seniority.

And with the death of President Monson occurring just three months after the death of Elder Robert D. Hales, the First Presidency was dissolved. The new Church President, Russell M. Nelson, chose as his counselors his seatmate Elder Dallin H. Oaks and President Eyring. As a result, Elder Uchtdorf returned to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. When he departed that Quorum to serve in the First Presidency, he had been the tenth most senior member of that Quorum, and he returned to it as the third in seniority, with only Acting President M. Russell Ballard and Elder Jeffrey R. Holland ahead of him.

In recognition of his administrative capacities and capabilities, his assignments as a recently-reassigned Quorum member were those that had previously been held by the three who had been the most senior members of the Quorum prior to that time (Presidents Nelson, Oaks, and Ballard). He became the chairman of the Missionary and Correlation Executive Councils, ad was also assigned to oversee the work of the Church in the Europe and Europe East Areas.

In 2021, he concluded his oversight of the Missionary Executive Council and was assigned as the Chairman of the Priesthood and Family Executive Council. Elder Uchtdorf has spoken frequently about ways in which Church members should consider themselves called to action. I enjoy hearing what he has to say in his General Conference addresses every six months.

Throughout his 30.5 years as a general authority, and his now 2 decades as a special witness of the Savior, (including almost a decade of service in the First Presidency), he has now given 81 addresses. Of those, 2 were given prior to his apostolic call, though the Church's list for some reason omits the first address he gave as a new General Authority Seventy.  He also gave 7 addresses between the time of his call to the apostleship and his subsequent call to the First Preidency. He then gave 58 more addresses in General Conference during the near-decade in the First Presidency, and has given 14 more addresses since resuming his position in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Elder Uchtdorf is a man of great personal warmth and charm, and we are blessed indeed to have him among the Special Witnesses of Christ at this time. He has always struck a very warm and welcoming tone in his public discourses, and his current assignments are a clear testament to the great faith the Brethren have in him. In addition to being the second-most-senior member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, he is also the second-oldest, behind only Elder Quentin L. Cook. He is also the fifth-most-senior apostle overall, and the fourth-oldest of the 15 apostles overall. I am grateful for the life and ministry of this charismatic servant of the Lord, and appreciate the opportunity I had to offer this post in tribute to his 84th birthday today.

I continue to monitor any and all Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples updates and will be sure to pass word of those along to you all as they cross my radar. BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: Site Locations & Preliminary Information Detailed for Colorado Springs Colorado & Missoula Montana Temples

Hello again, everyone! On this first Monday in November, the First Presidency has announced the locations and initial details for the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple (which was originally announced in October 2023) and the Missoula Montana Temple (which was originally announced in April 2022). Let's get right into the details:

We start with the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple. An 18.6-acre site on the south corner of Flying Horse Drive and Barossa Valley Road will host the single-story 45,009-square-foot edifice, along with a meetinghouse and a utility building.

For the Missoula Montana Temple, a 5.08-acre site at the corner of Old Bitterroot and Lower Middle Creek Roads will host a single-story 19,000-square-foot temple and an ancillary building. Both temples are larger than I thought they would be.

Stay tuned for updates from the Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples sites. I’ll be sure to pass word of those along to you all as soon as I learn about them. BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: President Nelson Announces 20 New Temples

Hello again, everyone! As I had projected, President Nelson just concluded General Conference by announcing 20 new temples. The temples will be built in the following locations:

Of the newest 20 temples, I had the following temples down to the exact correct location:

I had the correct general area but the wrong specific location for the following temples:

I was not anticipating the following temples:

In view of this announcement, there are now 370 temples in any phase. Of those 370, President Nelson has announced 50.8% of them. I am grateful that our prophet continues to announce new temples, and that he continues to encourage the Temple Department and Special Projects Division to keep the queue moving steadily.

For my part, I continue to monitor any and all Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples updates and will be sure to pass word of those along to you all as they cross my radar. October 2024 General Conference Predictions (Final Version)

Hello again, everyone! Since we are now officially 36 hours away from the next General Conference, I am pleased to be able to post the final version of my predictions for the upcoming weekend. We start, as always, with the projected speaker lineup

I fully believe the First Presidency will have three members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles conduct three of the five sessions (and that, for reasons I have outlined previously, the three will be Elders D. Todd Christofferson, Neil L. Andersen, and Ronald A Rasband). I likewise believe that the Sustaining of Church Officers will be at the top of every General Conference going forward.

I am projecting that Elder Patrick Kearon, who has not yet spoken at all in the Saturday Morning Session, will do so this weekend, and that this weekend will see the highest number of black participants ever in any General Conference (my projection is for 4 black speakers). The only other note on the speaker lineup is that I believe that only 5 of the 11 GA Seventies called in April 2024 will speak this time around and that I'm projecting that we will hear from 6 other "veteran" GA Seventies.

And as has been the case in just about every October General Conference for the entirety of President Nelson's prophetic tenure, the only changes in Church leadership which I am anticipating are that a few area seventies will be released with a few more sustained, while the announcement of new temples is always a given.

So I have prepared my thoughts on an area-by-area list of all the prospects I could see in the near term, and a more specific list of the top prospects I see being announced this weekend (that list can be found at the bottom of that final document). I hope all of you enjoy following along with these predictions, such as they are.

Elder Ulisses Soares Observes His 66th Brithday

Hello again, everyone! I am pleased at this time to honor Elder Ulisses Soares, who is celebrating his 66th birthday today. As I've mentioned previously, Elder Soares has a most unique life story and background, and I am grateful to share some thoughts about him with you all. Ulisses Soares was born on this day in 1958 in São Paulo Brazil to Apparecido Soares and Mercedes Carecho Soares. He has European and Amerindian ancestry. When an aunt joined the Church, that was how the Soares' family first learned of the gospel. His parents, after being taught by the missionaries, were baptized when young Ulisses was five years old.

Regarding his experience with worshipping in the Church during his growing-up years, his small branch would meet in a tiny rental place that was located above a bakery. He served a full-time mission in Rio de Janeiro, Upon his return, he connected with Rosana Fernandes Morgado, who had served in the same mission at around the same time, but whom he had not met until after they both had returned. The two were married in the São Paulo Temple, and together they raised three children

His academic experience involved studying at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, from which, in 1985, he received a bachelor's degree in economics and accounting. He then continued his studies at the;National Institute of Postgraduate Study, where he earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He spent his professional career working for several multinational companies (one of which was Pirelli Tire Company) as an accountant and an auditor. Donald L. Clark, who at that time was serving as director of temporal affairs for the Church in Brazil, convinced him to take a job with the Church as a senior auditor.

When Brother Clark was asked to serve as a mission president, Brother Soares took over for him as director of temporal affairs. He went on to fill a special assignment for the Church's Presiding Bishopric. Within the Church, Elder Soares has served as an elder's quorum president, counselor in a bishopric, stake high councilman, and as a regional welfare agent.

When the São Paulo Brazil Cotia Stake was created in 1995, Elder Soares was called as the first president thereof. 5 years later, he served a three-year term as president of the Porto Portugal Mission. Less than two years after his return (during the April 2005 General Conference), he was called as a General Authority Seventy.

As a General Authority Seventy, he served as First Counselor in the Brazil South Area.from 2005-2007, as First Counselor in the Brazil Area from 2007-2009, and as President of that area from 2009-2011. He served from August 2011-January 2013 as First Counselor in the Africa Southeast Area Presidency, at which point he was called to serve in the Presidency of the Seventy, with responsibility for the North America Southeast Area. Then, in November 2015, Elder Soares was reassigned to oversee the Idaho and North America Central Areas of the Church. He still had oversight of both of those areas in 2018.

On March 31, 2018, Elder Soares was sustained to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and he was ordained an apostle on Thursday April 5, 2018. He thus became both the first Latter-day Saint apostle from Brazil and the first one from Latin America. Elder Soares has had many opportunities to grow into his assignment. In the time he has has served as a general authority, he has given a total of 18 General Conference addresses, with the first 2 given as a General Authority Seventy, 3 more as a member of the Presidency of the Seventy, and the remaining 13 given since his call to the apostleship. His talk during this weekend's General Conference will bring his apostolic total to 14, and his grand total to 19.

I testify without reservation or hesitation that the Lord inspired President Nelson to call Elders Gong and Soares as apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. I gratefully and wholeheartedly sustain all 15 “special witnesses of Christ” in their divinely-inspired and doctrinally-supported roles prophets, seers, and revelators in their roles and responsibilities as special witnesses of Christ, and am grateful to have been able to provide this birthday tribute to Elder Soares today. Third Quarter 2024 Temple Construction Progress Update

Hello again, everyone! As September concludes, I am pleased to be able to provide an update on temple construction during this third quarter of 2024. By way of review, this report shows where things stood at the beginning of 2024, while this one reflects the progress made within just a few days of the April 2024 General Conference, this one highlights developments that occurred by the mid-point of 2024 and this one shows where things stand now, just a few days before the October 2024 General Conference.

That would ordinarily, at this point, cap my coverage of temple construction progress, but I have one more link to share. For anyone who wants to track temple construction progress as I provide those updates, you can find that coverage in this document. I don't necessarily update that document right as changes are implemented on the Church Temples site because that would require round-the-clock monitoring. But I do try to the best of my ability to check for updates a few times daily to ensure I'm not missing anything.

And it's also worth acknowledging that even the latest updates will be outdated by this upcoming Sunday, when President  Nelson will announce more new temples to conclude the October 2024 General Conference. Having shared those caveats, this update is concluded. I hope any of you who would like to share anything will take your opportunity to “sound off” in the comments below.

BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: Ground Broken for the Cody Wyoming Temple

Hello again, everyone! According to new reports in the Newsroom and the Church News, ground was broken this evening for the Cody Wyoming Temple. The reports indicate that Elder Steven R. Bangerter, First Counselor in the North America Central Area, presided, while Elder Kevin R. Duncan, Executive Director of the Temple Department, conducted the services.

Given the public opposition to the temple, I can understand why the groundbreaking was not announced in advance. As previously mentioned, this temple will be a modular one, and the modules are currently on an adjacent property.

Once construction gets underway,  it could take only 18-24 months, which would put its' completion sometime in mid- or mid-to-late 2026, assuming construction can begin soon and continue without disruption. With this unexpected additional temple groundbreaking, a total of 13 have been announced thus far for 2024, in contrast to the 8 from 2023.

I am grateful to have learned of this unexpected development and to be able to pass it along to you all here. Stay tuned here for updates from the Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples sites. I’ll be sure to pass word of those along to you all as soon as I learn about them. In the meantime, that does it for now.

BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: Site Location Confirmed for the Tacoma Washington Temple

Hello again, everyone! Today, the First Presidency officially confirmed the site location and details for the Tacoma Washington Temple. Let's break down this announcement. A multi-story temple of 45,000 square feet will rise on an 11.6-acre site at approximately 1405 South 364th Way, Federal Way, Washington. An accompanying utility building will also be included in that project.

The temple, originally announced in October 2022, will be the fifth such edifice in Washington state. As a result of today's announcement, there are now 45 announced temples for which no official information has yet been announced.  I am grateful for this announcement. Stay tuned here for updates from the Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples sites.

BREAKING NEWS: Next Batch of New Hymns Released

Hello again, everyone! Per an email that I received from the Church last week, the next batch of new hymns is expected to be released today. I am not sure how many hymns that will be, or what they might be. But I look forward to finding that out for sure. But today, I am also undergoing gallbladder surgery. So my analysis of the newly-released hymns will be delayed until further notice. But I look forward to providing my thoughts on that announcement ASAP. In the meantime, my thanks once again to you all.
