Hello again, everyone! Thanks to Michael Worley's comment in the threads of the previous post, I am pleased to report that Church President Dallin H. Oaks will preside at the dedication of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple this Sunday. This will be President Oaks' second temple dedication overall and his first international one since becoming President of the Church in October.
The news release doesn't indicate anything about any other stops, and the prophet continues to recover from a semi-recent hip replacement surgery, so a one-stop international visit makes a lot of sense. I am grateful he is well enough for this one stop. Hopefully he will also be well enough to preside at a few upcoming dedications and rededications as well. The prophet will celebrate his 94th birthday tomorrow, and I will have a tribute post in his honor published about 10 hours or so from now.
I am grateful for this morning's announcement, and for the chance I had to cover it. I am grateful to Michael Worley for first sharing this news here. In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not.
