Open House Concludes for Concepcion Chile Temple

Hello again, everyone! Given the fact that Chile is 3 hours ahead of Mountain Daylight Time here in Utah, the Concepcion Chile Temple open house has officially concluded, and that temple will now be in a two-week preparation phase prior to the youth devotional 14 days from now, and the dedication of that temple on October 28.

As previously mentioned, President and Sister Nelson and Elder and Sister Stevenson will be the presiding Church leaders in attendance at that temple's dedication, and that will be the culmination of the next leg of the Nelsons Global Ministry Tour. That leg involves visits to Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile, and is set to begin a week from yesterday. I will be carrying full reports of this leg of the Nelsons' trip, along with full coverage of the temple dedication, as those events occur.

I also continue to monitor all Church news and temple developments and will pass word of those along to you all as I receive it. That does it for this post. Any and all comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated, on any post at any time.

Thank you for the privilege of your time. If you enjoyed what you read here and would like to stay informed of newly-added content, please feel free to subscribe. Until my next post, I wish each one of you all the best and pray that the Lord will bless you all in everything you do.

  1. Thank you for taking time to comment. I am aware of the accent mark on the i, and it bugs me to no end when I see professional public references to such cities that do not bother using the culturally-appropriate accents. That said, on an English keyboard, I either need to put in those accents by copying and pasting them, or find a way to insert those marks manually while I compose my posts, and, unfortunately, at the rate I churn out content (due to the high volume of Church news and temple developments), I am currently not able to take the time to ensure that my personal punctuation is culturally appropriate. That said, I will try to watch that more closely in the future if I can. No offense intended, and I take no offense either. Thanks again for taking time to comment.

  2. Sorry. Speaking of proofreading before I post content, I mistyped in my reply above. The accent mark, as you said, should be on the "o", not on the "i", as I mistakenly said above. To coin a Latin phrase, "Mea culpa." That said, I grew up speaking and spelling in English, only took French in High School, and had limited exposure to a total of 12 other languages as I served in the temple for six years. So I hope my international readers will be kind enough to overlook my foreign language errors, especially for those with which I have little to no familiarity. Thanks again.

  3. James, to help you with accents, he is a simple explanation:
Press Control + ', then the letter to add an acute accent. Hold Control, then tap the apostrophe key. You can find the apostrophe next to the enter key. Release the keys. Then select the desired letter to accent.
See this wikihow for more explanations and visual guides:

  4. Thank you, coachodeeps. I will look more into all of that as I have time and opportunity to do so. Lately, I have noticed my tendency to over-complicate things that are really very simple. And the fact is, given the amount of information I regularly post and share here, I should be able to simply update some of the resources I have available, then make sure to include the same stylistic adjustments in future posts. All of that will come in time.

In the meantime, I always appreciate people who express corrections or offer assistance, clarification, or correction to things I have said here previously. I will be looking into what you shared above as I can. Things are a little crazy for me personally right now, so once the dust settles (hopefully within the next week or two), I will be in a better position to look into such things and to make any personal course corrections that are needed to help me avoid such errors in the future. Thanks again, coachodeeps, for taking time to comment. I always appreciate hearing from you.

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.

At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.

I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.

And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.

Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
