BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: Arequipa Peru Temple Open House to Begin on Friday; Church President Russell M. Nelson To Dedicate Temple In December
Looking ahead to the rest of this month, Sunday will see both the rededication of the Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple by Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and the day when, at 4:00 PM MST, Elder Gerrit W. Gong, also of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will join the Primary, Young Men, and Young Women General Presidencies to share more information about the new Children and Youth program for which initial details were shared in the September 29 Fifth-Sunday broadcast.
And the last day of this month (Saturday November 30) will mark both the last day of the Arequipa Peru Temple open house and the day on which the Puebla Mexico Temple will have its' groundbreaking. At this point, I have no idea what (if any) other major Church news and temple developments might be reported before the end of this year, but I am hoping for at least a few more announcementns, including that at least one more temple (but perhaps even two or three) might also have their groundbreakings before the end of this year.
Whatever might happen in that respect, I am as committed as I ever was to bringing word of such developments to you all as I become aware of it. That does it for now. Any and all comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated, on any post at any time, as long as such comments are made in accordance with the established guidelines. Thank you for the privilege of your time. If you enjoyed what you read here and would like to stay informed of newly added content, please feel free to subscribe. Until my next post, I wish each one of you all the best and pray that the Lord will bless you all in everything you do.

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.
At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.
I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.
And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.
Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
Hello again, everyone! Just wanted to drop an additional note here. According to the page for the Arequipa Peru Temple on the Church of Jesus Christ Temples website, VIP/Media tours for the temple are actually already underway today, instead of getting undeerway tomorrow as I thought (and indicated above in this post) might be the case. With that noted, my thanks once again to you all for your continued interest and ongoing support.
ReplyDeleteAnd here is another Church News article which may be of interest to you all:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.thechurchnews.com/global/2019-11-12/violence-mass-protests-in-bolivia-affect-missionaries-and-latter-day-saints-166609
Not sure how the current situation in Bolivia might impact the timing whereby a second temple could be announced there. But that is something I will be evaluating as I continue to work on finalizing the initial version of my April 2020 General Conference predictions.
Two more:

In that one, as the ministry of Sisters Sharon Eubank and Becky Craven in the Pacific was recounted, they mentioned that, during their stop in Papua New Guinea, they found Saints activiely engaged in preparing for the Port Moresby Temple.

The above is yet another exciting development for the Family Search organization and the resources they provide. In the meantime, an update on the Mesa Arizona Temple indicates that upper windows are being replaced, and that the new platform for the Mesa Arizona Temple pageant(s) is now in place.
I continue to monitor all Church and temple news and will provide coverage of such developments as I become aware of them. In the meantime, my thanks once again to you all.
James, I just looked at Rick's temple site again. Based on the current status of the Rio de Janeiro temple, it sure seems like we will be seeing completion dates announced soon.
ReplyDeletetwinnumerouno, thank you for stopping by to comment. I received similar information from Rick myself late last night. From what I understand, if all goes well, the hope is to have the temple dedication set for sometime in May, which is also within a similar or identical window to the anticipated completion of the Tokyo Japan Temple. Based on what is and is not know at present about these two temples, it's my feeling that the Rio de Janeiro Temple could be dedicated in early May, with the rededication of the Tokyo Temple occurring in either late May or early June. Time will tell. Thanks for stopping by to comment, twinnumerouno! I always appreciate hearing from you.
DeleteHello again, everyone! Some additional Church News stories have been reported:

And I also have a few quick temple updates. First, on the Durban South Africa Temple, front door handles have been fastened; with the baptismal font filled; work on the electrical systems has been completed; the final painting of the exterior walls is underway; and the installation of landscaping and brick pavers continues.
Meanwhile, as twinnumerouno mentioned in the comment above, at the Rio de Janeiro Temple, construction nearing completion, and the open house committee is making presentations to stakes and districts to prepare members for that temple's dedication. I continue to monitor all Church news and temple updates and will pass those along as I receive them. In the meantime, my thanks once again to you all.
