BREAKING NEWS: Churchwide Youth Music Festival to be Held Virtually for the First Time Ever

Hello again, everyone! For the first time in a while, the Church has shared a breaking news development not related to temple events. Through the Church News, the first ever Worldwide Youth Music Festival will be held virtually. The festival is set to be held on Wednesday July 29. An invitation to participate virtually is being extended to youth worldwide, including friends of other faiths. The festival will follow the theme "Hear the Voice of the Lord", in conjunction with President Nelson's invitation to "Hear Him!" Featuring musical performances and testimonies from youth around the world, the event will also include brief remarks from a few Church leaders.

The event, being prerecorded, will be 40 minutes in length, and air at 6:00 PM MDT, through Youtube's "Strive to Be" page, Facebook's Church of Jesus Christ page, and through the Church's official Broadcasts page. The article inviting youth to participate in this event shares quotes from the Young Women General President, Sister Bonnie H. Cordon, and the newly-called Young Men General President, Brother Steven J. Lund. I am grateful to have been able to find out about this development, and to have been able to pass it along here to you all.

I continue to monitor any and all Church news and temple updates, and will continue to pass along anything in that respect as I become aware of it. That does it for now. Any and all comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated, on any post at any time, as long as such comments are made in accordance with the established guidelines. Thank you for the privilege of your time. If you enjoyed what you read here and would like to stay informed of newly added content, please feel free to subscribe. Until my next post, I wish each one of you all the best and pray that the Lord will bless you all in everything you do.

  1. Hello again, everyone! The latest edition of "This Week on Social" has been published:

This week's installment, another brief one, included posts from the following general leaders: Elders David A. Bednar, Gary E. Stevenson, and Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; and Sisters Michelle D. Craig and Becky Craven, who serve respectively as First and Second Counselors in the Young Women General Presidency.

    Thanks again, all!

  2. And the Utah Area Presidency has provided a formal recommendation that all Utahns, especially Latter-day Saints, wear masks while out and about in public:

    Thanks again to you all.

  3. Hello again, everyone! Church News editor Sarah Jane Weaver has written a new article focusing on how Relief Society is a "circle of sisters" worldwide:

And with the 90th anniversary concert for "Music and the Spoken Word" now just one week away, I find it hardly coincidental that the episode that will be rebroadcast this weekend is the one in which the "Spoken Word" focuses on that monumental milestone, given as it was originally on the Sunday closest to when that 90th anniversary milestone was reached:

Additionally, by this time next Saturdy, ground will have been broken for the Feather River California Temple by Elder Scott D. Whiting, First Counselor in the North America West Area Presidency and one of the assistant executive directors of the Temple Department. My thanks once again to you all.

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.

At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.

I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.

And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.

Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
