BREAKING TEMPLE NEWS: 3 Temples to Begin Phase 1 Reopening; 12 to Move to Phase 2; Changes Announced for Endowment Ceremony

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.
At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.
I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.
And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.
Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
Hello again, everyone! In addition to what i reported above, the Newsroom also shared updates today on the Church's ongoing efforts to reintegrate towards a "new normal" for Church operations:

I also have been made aware of some minor updates relating to temple construction. At the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple site, while structural framing continues for the lower levels of that temple, the deck for the third floor is being installed. Meanwhile, a report I have received also appears to indicate that full-scale construction will commence on the Feather River California Temple at some point this week. If that happens, it will leave 4 temples in the "Full-scale construction pending" status, namely, Auckland New Zealand, Alabang Philippines, Puebla Mexico, and Lima Peru Los Olivos. The groundbreaking for the second temple named for the Peruvian capital city occurred over a year ago. Although that process is currently stalled as an apparent result of COVID-19, there does not seem to be any indication of what the holdup was on that prior to COVID-19's wide-spread impact.
But I am hopeful that the Church is working on whatever factors might be delaying progress on all temples which have had a groundbreaking or are announced, and that a series of announcements in the near future relating to that subject may be made soon.
In the interim, with the site cleared for the Red Cliffs Utah Temple, there has been a new report on the Taylorsville Utah Temple site, where the stake center has bben completely demolished. I am hopeful we will soon hear about groundbreaking arrangements for those two temples. And we are still awaiting word on whether the signature-gathering process for a ballot initiative about the residential development and temple planned in Erda Utah has been successful. I am hopeful that somehow, either that process won't yield success, or that those responsible for the objections will withdraw them. Stay tuned as more is learned about that.
And I'd also mention here that, although the Church may primarily focus on getting approvals for the stateside temples, which may be more easily and quickly accomplished than getting approval for some international temples, I received a new report recently which seems to indicate that the San Pedro Sula Honduras Temple might be the next temple outside the United States to have a groundbreaking, so that is a total of four additional temples that could have a groundbreaking in August, September, or October.
I am still hoping to post an overview of recent changes I have made to several of my temple files in the relatively near future, so stay tuned for that. Thanks again, everyone!
