UPDATED: Current Apostolic Data

Hello again, everyone! As most of you are almost certainly aware, I have provided updates on the latest apostolic data (specifically relating to tbeir lifespan or tenure length milestones) roughly every seven weeks. Having last done so on  May 2, it is time to publish the newest data on th. As with that last update, the first part contains updated data about the age and tenure length records for all 17 Church Presidents, along with updated information on the tenure length records for each of the 28 Presidents of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

The first document also shows information on three sets of apostolic groups: the longest-serving First Presidencies (which will not be updated with the First Presidency as presently constituted until 2024), in addition to the longest-serving groups of members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and groups of all ordained apostles (the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles).

The latest version of that document also shows when the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as currently comprised will move up on the list of the longest-serving Quorums of the Twelve Apostles, in addition to specifics on when the current members of that Quorum, along with the current First Presidency, will reach the next milestones on that list.

Meanwhile, the second part of today's update shows the long-form and decimal ages for the members of the current First Presidency, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and the apostolic groups overall, in addition to the average ages of each group and apostolic nonagenarians (with 2 of the current 15 apostles being on that list, and the timing noted for when each of the other 13 apostles will join that list).

Hopefully this shared data will be of interest to you all, and again, I offer an open invitation to anyone who has any questions about those documents to ask them here. I will, of course, conFitinue to monitor all Church news updates and temple developments, and will do my level best to bring word of those to you all as I become aware of all such reports.

That does it for now. Any and all comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated, on any post at any time, as long as such comments are made in accordance with the established guidelines. Thank you for the privilege of your time. If you enjoyed what you read here and would like to stay informed of newly added content, please feel free to subscribe. Until my next post, I wish each one of you all the best and pray that the Lord will bless you all in everything you do.

  1. Hello again, everyone!

After taking a few days to recover from last week’s dental appointment, and to put in some major focus on the June newsletter for my Elders’ Quorum, I am back to share updates from the Church News and the Newsroom that were covered in the last several days. Let’s get right into all of that. First, from the Newsroom comes an update posted today on the latest developments which have occurred in the ongoing renovation of the Salt Lake Temple:

    1. Next, I have mentioned in the past that, although it has become somewhat traditional for each edition of “This Week on Social” to be published on Friday, in the recent past, those editions have periodically been posted on Saturday or Sunday. This week, two separate editions were published. The regular edition was published Saturday, and a special edition called “This Father’s Day on Social” followed yesterday, with the latter being covered through both the Church News and the Newsroom:

      https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/latter-day-saint-leaders-honor-father-figures-in-social-media-posts

We will discuss the two editions in that same order. The Saturday edition included posts from the following apostles: Church President Russell M. Nelson, and his First Counselor, President Dallin H. Oaks; and Elders Dieter F. Uchtdorf, David A. Bednar, and Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Also highlighted were posts from several general officers of the Church: Michelle D. Craig, First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency; Sunday School General President Brother Mark L. Pace and his First Counselor, Brother Milton Camargo; and Brother Bradley R. (Brad) Wilcox, Second Counselor in the Young Men General Presidency.

It is also worth noting that Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and Relief Society General President Sister Jean B. Bingham and her First Counselor, Sister Sharon L. Eubank contributed some final thoughts following their participation in the first-ever Single Adult Face-to-Face event.

Now we come to the Father’s Day edition sharing social media posts. That report shared thoughts on fathers and fatherhood from the following apostles: Church President Russell M. Nelson and his Second Counselor, President Henry B. Eyring; the following members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: Acting President M. Russell Ballard and Elders Jeffrey R. Holland, David A. Bednar, Quentin L. Cook, and Gerrit W. Gong. In addition, posts from the following female general officers of the Church were also shared: Relief Society General President Sister Jean B. Bingham; Young Women General President Sister Bonnie H. Cordon and her First Counselor, Sister Michelle D. Craig; and the entire Primary General Presidency (General President Sister Camille N. Johnson, and her respective First and Second Counselors, Sisters Susan H. Porter and Amy A. Wright).

    2. The Church News has also provided the following additional reports, which speak for themselves:

    3. The final two updates from the Church News may require a bit more context. Following an extended hiatus (since most other mission presidents called this year have already been featured), the Church News has shared the biographies of a couple who are preparing to assume oversight of one of the many Church missions in Brazil:

      https://www.thechurchnews.com/callings/2021-06-20/new-mission-president-companion-called-to-serve-brazil-216160

Although this new couple have served in several callings both separately and together, of particular note is the fact that the new president is currently serving on the stake high council, and has formerly served as an area For the Strength of Youth director (doing so alongside his wife) and as a counselor in a stake presidency, while his wife is now serving as ward Relief Society president, and has served as stake Primary president, stake Young Women president, and as a stake seminary teacher.

And the latest edition of “In Case You Missed It” was also shared, recapping the top 9 most significant developments covered within the last week:

My thanks once again to you all.

    4. The first comment I posted on this thread noted the Newsroom update on the Salt Lake Temple. The Church News just provided coverage on that as well:

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.

At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.

I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.

And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.

Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
