UPDATED: Temple Construction Progress Report

Hello again, everyone! As almost of you are obviously aware, the Winnipeg Manitoba Temple was dedicated on Sunday by Elder Gerrit W. Gong, and this Sunday,  Acting President M. Russell Ballard will preside at the dedication of the Pocatello Idaho Temple. Construction has also concluded for the Yigo Guam Temple, and with the first president and matron of that temple having arrived, hopefully the announcement of opening arrangements for that temple will be made by the end of this month. In addition to having the final stages of construction wrapping up, there has not yet been an announcement about the first president and matron for the Quito Ecuador Temple.

Similarly, we are awaiting the announcement of opening arrangements for both the Tokyo Japan and Hamilton New Zealand Temples. Hopefully those arrangements are forthcoming.  While those opening (or reopening) arrangements are pending for four temples (two new, and two for which renovations have been completed), a new report from the Church Temples site includes a stunning update on the Helena Montana Temple, including a move up the queue so it is now below Saratoga Springs Utah.

The resulting adjustments that I've made to my temple construction progress report show changes in the queue and several updated and revised estimates for dedication windows, in addition to new reports on the status of Moses Lake Washington and Puebla Mexico Temples. Other than these preliminary notes, the changes in the temple construction progress report speak for themselves, and I was grateful to be able to provide them for you now. I am hopefully that on at least one of the final two days of this week, a breaking update will be shared on at least one temple, though I can't rule out the prospect of two days straight wherein new temple updates are shared.

In the meantime, that does it for now. Any and all comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated, on any post at any time, as long as such comments are made in accordance with the established guidelines. Thank you for the privilege of your time. If you enjoyed what you read here and would like to stay informed of newly added content, please feel free to subscribe. Until my next post, I wish each one of you all the best and pray that the Lord will bless you all in everything you do.

  1. Hello again, everyone! The Church News has shared a new video in which Young Women General President Sister Bonnie H. Cordon recounted an experience she had with Elder L. Tom Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles when he was staying with her family while on a Church assignment. The experience taught her a powerful lesson about feeding chickens and how shining the light of her testimony on others has helped influence her for the better:

Additionally, I have some new temple updates to report as well. All of them are reflected in the document to which I shared the link in this post and those appear in red text, with all updates noted as being new for yesterday have been switched to plain text color.

Primarily, a new report indicates that the Casper Wyoming Temple site is being cleared in preparation for leveling and construction. That puts it in the queue for a currently-anticipated dedication window of early 2023, though that could be moved up if the modular process moves faster now that it's better understood.

I also realized I had unintenionally cut the Puebla Mexico Temple from the bottom of the section that now ends with the Red Cliffs Utah Temple, but I had not then completed the process by pasting in the information about the Puebla Mexico Temple and the altered estimate I'm offering for its' completion.

Those who view the docuemnt now will also see updates on the status of the Syracuse Utah and Harare Zimbabwe Temples. And I was able to track down information about the special-use permit being granted for the Farmington New Mexico Temple (which occurred in mid-to-late October) and the conditional use permit being approved 2 days ago for the Elko Nevada Temple. I anticipate groundbreakings for both could be announced relatively soon, and if that announcement comes before the end of this week, it wouldn't shock me if the arrangements were set to occur one week from this Saturday for both temples.

I am likewise hopeful other groundbreakings for temples in the US and elsewhere in the world might soon be able to be set as well, and depending on the nature of those approvals, some could see a similar quick turn-around from the permits being issued to the groundbreaking taking place. Stay tuned for more on this as I find out about that. My thanks once again to you all in the meantime.

    1. Hello again, everyone! Today led to another major overhaul being needed on the temple construction progress report I shared yesterday, so those latest changes are available to view on this document now. My thanks once again to you all.

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.

At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.

I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.

And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.

Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
