UPDATED: Current Apostolic Data

Hello again, everyone! It has been a tradition on this blog for me to provide updates on apostolic data every 7 weeks. Having last done so on May 29, it is time to publish the newest such data. As with every two-part update, the first part contains updated data about the age and tenure length records for all 17 Church Presidents. The first part also includes updated information on the tenure length records for each of the 28 Presidents of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

The first document also shows information on the three sets of apostolic groups: the longest-serving First Presidencies (which will not be updated with the First Presidency as presently constituted until 2024), in addition to the longest-serving groups of members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and groups of all ordained apostles (the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles).

The latest version of that document also shows when the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as currently comprised will move up on the list of the longest-serving Quorums of the Twelve Apostles, in addition to specifics on when the current members of that Quorum, along with the current First Presidency, will reach the next milestones on that list.

Meanwhile, the second part of today's update shows the long-form and decimal ages for the members of the current First Presidency, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and the apostolic groups overall, in addition to the average ages of each group and apostolic nonagenarians (with 2 of the current 15 apostles being on that list, and the timing noted for when each of the other 13 apostles will join that list).

Hopefully this shared data will be of interest to you all, and again, I offer an open invitation to anyone who has any questions about those documents to ask them here. I will, of course, continue to monitor all Church news updates and temple developments, and will do my level best to bring word of those to you all as I become aware of all such reports. In the meantime, that does it for now. All comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated, on any post at any time, as long as the offered feedback is made per the established guidelines. Thank you for the privilege of your time. I hope any of you who would like to share anything will take your opportunity to “sound off” in the comments below. If you enjoyed what you read here and would like to stay informed of newly added content, please feel free to subscribe. Until my next post, I wish each one of you all the best and pray that the Lord will bless you all in everything you do.

    1. Hello again, everyone! The newest edition of the Church News podcast will be released tomorrow. It will feature an interview with incoming Primary Geenral President Sister Susan B. Porter, who has been serving since April of last year as First Counselor in that presidency. As part of that episode, Sister Porter will discuss how her status as a widow does not define who she truly is:

And the Church News continues the series of analysis on new temple locations by sharing pertinent facts about the two Brazilian cities in which temples were announced 3 months ago in General Conference:

    3. On this Tuesday, the latest edition of the Church News podcast has been released:

As noted yesterday, the featured guest was Sister Susan H. Porter, the outgoing First Counselor and incoming General President of the Primary. And the JustServe service organization of the Church was featured in Colorado in a parade for the 4th of July:

Additionally, a new update has been noted on the Okinawa Japan Temple:

    4. Also, I did want to share a personal theory about a prospective possibility. The latest update on the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple shows that landscaping and interior work are "nearing completion". By contrast, the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple's status notes that "landscaping and interior work" are progressing, and that the counselors to the temple president have been identified. So if landscaping and interior work are "progression" for Puerto Rico's first temple vs. "nearing completion" for Utah County's nearest temple, there could be an outside chance, since US temples are likely more easy to set arrangements for, that the opening arrangements for Saratoga Springs, along with perhaps its' actual dedication, could be set to occur prior to the opening and dedication of the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple.

Obviously, the Church Temples site lists San Juan first currently, but I may do some checking on my end and see if I can figure out how likely it might be for Saratoga Springs to have opening arrangements set (and perhaps to have the open house or even the dedication occur) before similar corresponding arrangements are made for the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple. Just wanted to note I am exploring that prospect. My thanks once again to you all.

    5. One new Church News report has been shared for my readers who are interested in sports:

And a new update has recently been noted on the construction status of the Tallahassee Florida Temple:

      https://churchofjesuschristtemples.org/tallahassee-florida-temple/

As the Church moves closer here in Utah to the official observances of Pioneer Day, unless something is announced in the next day or two, I'd anticipate that any near-future temple announcements may be made sometime next week at earliest.

We also have the August 1 transition of area leadership assignments and Church headquarters assignments coming up, which, of course, includes the beginning of the service of the new Relief Society (Sisters Camille N. Johnson, Anette J. Dennis, and Kristen M. Yee) and Primary (Susan H. Porter, Amy A. Wright. and Tracy Y. Browning) General Presidencies. I will keep my eyes open for any other changes noted as a result and will pass those along here as I become aware thereof. My thanks once again to you all.

    6. Thank you for the updates. I'd be happy for either both of these U.S. temples to be finished soon. Utah needs more to elevate the schedules of nearby temples. And Puerto Rico to eliviate travel distance and cost.

    7. L. Chris Jones, I'm assuming you made the anonymous comment above because I can see another comment in my from my comments page that shows your name but is empty. Not sure why that happened.

This evening, I've been looking at the recent history of set temple dedications or rededications. Based on that, I'd expect the announcements for the rededication arrangements for the Columbus Ohio Temple and the dedication arrangements for Ssn Juan Puerto Rico, Saratoga Springs Utah, and Feather River California to be announced in the next 2-3 weeks, if not sooner. If that happens, the dedications of the three temples and the one rededication could be set to occur anytime between November of this year and January of next year. I'm interested to see how the timing will work out there. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.

At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.

I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.

And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.

Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
