New stake created in Nicaragua
It appears that the July recess the General Authorities are on this year did not prevent the creation of a new stake last week in Nicaragua. I will leave it up to Matthew Martinich to report on the significance of this stake creation, including the units involved. But it is awesome to hear about that, and in my mind, it strengthens the notion that Nicaragua may get a temple sooner rather than later, especially as this is the first stake created in that nation in 8 years (though a district and Nicaragua's second mission were both created in 2010). I am keeping an eye out on developments in this regard, and will pass along any additional news as I receive it. For now, any comments are welcome, if you are able to make them. If not, let me know. Thanks.
I have had a lifelong love for Church history, which has extended to ongoing reports of the ministry of our apostles and prophets, General Conference, and all temple developments. This blog enables me to share that love with all who read my thoughts on these developments, which are sometimes reported multiple times per day as needed.
Church News Update includes article about new RS General Presidency Second Counselor Reyna I. Aburto
The Church News ran this article on the new Second Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, Sister Reyna I. Aburto. Additionally, the Church News reported that there is a new Pioneer exhibit at the Church History Library. To read more about that, click here. They also ran an article about the "Mormon Goal Scorer", an LDS woman who is a professional soccer player. You can read her story here. The Tabernacle Choir is having its annual audition season. For more on that story, click here. The Church also helped rebuild a school library in Deweyville Texas, which had been devastated by flooding. More on that can be found here. Upcoming Church events can be found summarized in this article. That does it for this Church News update. Any comments are welcome, if you are able to make them. If not, please let me know via my contact information on my blogger profile. Thanks.
