Temple Construction Progress Report Overhauled as Completion Order and Estimates Are Frequently Adjusted

Hello again, everyone! As we near the half-way point of the second month in 2021, I wanted to publish new content today. I have mentioned repeatedly in recent threads of several of my previous posts that the completion order for temples now under construction, along with their completion estimates, have been fluctuating frequently of late. In consideration of the massive and significant nature of those changes, I wanted to provide two links to my temple construction progress report

The first shows the changes that have been made as of today, and as of the time at which this post is being published. And the second link I wanted to share today is for the version of my report that will be continuously updated from today until my first-quarter temple construction progress report is shared (which I am planning to take care of on either March 31 or April 1).

It appears that there will be a need to keep tabs on the queue of temples which are now or may soon be under full-scale construction, since there will surely be many more such changes in the days ahead. As the saying goes, "The only thing that's truly constant is change." Within the last couple of weeks alone, on several of the days therein, there have even been multiple chnages to the queue in a single day. That will no doubt continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.

I remain committed to continuing to track those changes, and will do my level best to continue to bring word of those to you all here as I become aware of them. I also will be monitoring all other Church news updates and will similarly bring you summaries thereof as I am able to do so.

That does it for now. Any and all comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated, on any post at any time, as long as such comments are made in accordance with the established guidelines. Thank you for the privilege of your time. If you enjoyed what you read here and would like to stay informed of newly added content, please feel free to subscribe. Until my next post, I wish each one of you all the best and pray that the Lord will bless you all in everything you do.

  1. Hello again, everyone! On this Sabbath morning, I am pleased to share the latest edition of "In Case You Missed It", which highlights the top 9 developments covered in the Church News within the last week:

  2. On this Monday, the Newsroom and the Church News have provided updates on the Church's ongoing process of reopening temples:

    https://www.thechurchnews.com/temples/2021-02-15/lds-temples-open-worldwide-phased-reopening-183918

    https://www.thechurchnews.com/temples/2021-02-15/temple-reopening-status-tracker-worldwide-199279

As noted in those sources, effective immediately, the Bogota Colombia Temple, and all 7 current temples in California (Fresno, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, Oakland, Redlands, Sacramento, and San Diego) will resume their most recent phases, following temporary pauses due to ongoing COVID-19 conditions. Of those 8 temples, 6 will resume phase 2 operations, with the Los Angeles and Redlands California Temples returning to a phase 1 status. Meanwhile, the Tijuana Mexico Temple is being upgraded from phase 1 to phase 2. And the Church has also posted a reminder about the phase 3 reopenings for 6 more temples, which are set to go into effect next week. For more details on the original announcement about those 6 temples, please see the following post elsewhere on this blog, which includes helpful and relevant resources:

The Church News also noted that, in view of recent announcements, as of next week, there will be 14 temples in phase 3 (which allows all living ordinances, in addition to some proxy work by appointment), with 119 more in phase 2 (allowing the performance of all living ordinances, with priority given to sealings for previously-endowed couples, then to those preparing to be married in the temple, then to missionaries already out in the mission field who were not able to receive their own endwoments before their departure, then to those preparing to depart for the mission field, then to any others who may need to receive their own ordinances for any other reason); and 13 temples in phase 1, which only allows the living sealings of previously-endowed husbands and wives. There are also 13 temples remaining which have paused operatiosn due to local COVID-19 protocols and regulations, and the 8 that are closed for major renovations. The Church has not yet been able to reopen the Kyiv Ukraine Temple in any phase.

As I mentioned previously, I am grateful for the Church's cautious and measured approach to the process of reopening temples around the world, and for the way that is being done as the apostles confer remotely with area presidencies, area seventies, and in some cases, government leaders worldwide.

Also, in honor of today being President's Day in the United States, the Church News has taken a look at previous periods in US history where the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, then known as the "Mormon Tabernacle Choir", performed in any setting for any of the men who have served as Presidents of the United States:

My thanks once again to you all.

In addition to my life-long love for the subjects which I cover in the posts of this blog, I have long held the belief that we can disagree without becoming disagreeable. Differences of opinion are natural, while being disagreeable in expressing those differences is not. And in that sense, I have no desire to close the door on anyone who earnestly desires to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on subjects covered in the posts on this blog.

At the same time, however, I recognize that we live in a time when incivility, discourtesy, unkindness, and even cyber-bullying has regrettably become part of online interactions. With that in mind, while anyone who wishes can comment on anything if they choose to do so, I hereby reserve the right to immediately delete any comments which are critical, unkind, lack civility, or promote prodcuts, services, and values contrary to either the Church, or to the rules of online etiquette.

I'd also like to remind all who comment here that I try to respond personally to each individual comment as I feel is appropriate. Such replies are not meant to end the conversation, but to acknowledge earnest feedback as it is submitted.

And in order to better preserve the spirit and pure intentions for which this blog was established, I also hereby request that anyone not commenting with a regular user name (particularly those whose comments appear under the "Unknown" or "Anonymous" monikers, give the rest of us a name to work with in addressing any replies. If such individuals do not wish to disclose their actual given names, a pseudonym or nickname would suffice.

Any comments made by individuals who opt to not give a name by which they can ber identified may, depending on the substance and tone of such comments, be subject to deletion as well. I would respectfully ask that all of us do all we can to keep the dialogue positive, polite, and without malice or ill-will. May the Lord bless us all in our discussion of these important matters.
