Hello again, everyone! It has been a tradition on this blog for me to provide updates on apostolic data every 7 weeks. Having last done so on Sunday, October 1, it is time to publish the newest such data. The recent passing of President M. Russell Ballard is probably making the biggest difference in this edition. As with every two-part update, the first part contains updated data about the age and tenure length records for all 17 Church Presidents, in addition to updated information on the tenure length records for each of the 28 Presidents of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The first document likewise notes information on the tenure length rankings for three sets of apostolic groups: the longest-serving First Presidencies (which will not be updated with the current First Presidency until 2024), in addition to the longest-serving groups of members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and groups of all ordained apostles (the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles), and an overview of when each of those current groups will move up on the list.
Meanwhile, the second part of today's update shows the long-form and decimal ages for the members of the current First Presidency, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and the apostolic groups overall, in addition to the average ages of each group and apostolic nonagenarians (with 4 of the current 15 apostles being on that list), and a final table showing the remaining time between today and when each of the other 11 apostles will become nonagenarians and join that list. With these updates coming every 7 weeks, the next update will be posted here on the morning of Sunday November 19. That next update will serve as the last one for 2023.

In that previous thread, I mentioned the summary of the final 2023 Worldwide Deovtional for Young Adults. The Newsroom has provided a likewise summarized that event.
I will just mention here that, barring anything unexpected, I am hoping we get new major temple construction updates during each of the remaining Mondays of this year (November 20 and 27, and December 4, 11, and 18). I am hoping we hear about at least one or two temple dedications tomorrow, though I also hope we might hear about the final temple groundbreakings for 2023 or the first groundbreakings for 2024, and I'm also hopeful we may get one or two more exterior renderings and one or two more site confirmations within these 5 weeks. Stay tuned for coverage on all of this as I can make that happen. For now, my thanks once again to you all.

DeleteOn this Monday, we are just about 1.5 hours away from the next anticipated major temple construction announcement. I will be sure to keep my eyes open for those updates and will pass my analysis thereof along here as time allows this afternoon. In the interim, the Newsroom and the Church News have shared prophetic invitations from President Russell M. Nelson to young adults and youth, encouraging their attendance at and participation in institute and seminary. Relief Soceity General President Camille N. Johnson and Primary General President Susan H. Porter continue their ministry trip in the Philippines, where they are helping to launch the #LighttheWorld campaign with the unveiling of the Giving Machine that will be on display in Cebu City.
ReplyDeleteIn conjunction with the aforementioned invitations from President Nelson, an increase in enrollment in Institute is a key indicator of the strength of young adults throughout the world. And the BYU Men's Cross Country team has placed third at the NCAA championships for the second year in a row. My thanks once again to you all.
