Hello again, everyone! Zs 2024 winds down to its' conclusion, I am pleased to be able to provide an overview of where temple construction stood at the beginning of this year vs. where they stand now. I am pleased to present my temple construction progress reports showing where things stood as 2024 began, at the beginning of April, at 2024's mid-point, as October began, and as 2024 ends. Please feel free to post questions you might have. Other than these notes, the documents are self-explanatory for the most part.
Stay tuned here for updates from the Church News, Newsroom, and Church of Jesus Christ Temples sites. I’ll be sure to pass word of those along to you all as soon as I learn about them. In the meantime, that does it for now. All comments are, as always, welcome and appreciated on any post at any time, as long as all such feedback is made per the established guidelines.

Hello again, everyone, and Happy New Year 2025! Here is an overview of the projects I anticipate bringing to this blog in 2025 (aside from any breaking news I can't currently anticipate, which obviously includes major temple construction announcements). My thanks once again to you all.
ReplyDeleteOn this New Year's Day, our beloved Prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, has issued his prophetic invitation for 2025. My thanks once again to you all.
DeleteAlso, since it is no longer 2024, I am personally changing my general completion estimates for the Farmington New Mexico and Grand Junction Colorado Temples from late 2924-early 2025 to now just early 2025. My thanks once again to you all.
DeleteThe Church News has published one additional report about "The Living Christ". My thanks once again to you all.
DeleteThe Church News has published a couple new reports: Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman and Young Men General President Steven J. Lund highlight the 2025 youth theme. And 33 temple renderings were released by the Church in 2024. My thanks once again to you all.
DeleteWith no other Church News or Newsroom updates to pass along, I wanted to note a rather significant update on the Bahia Blanca Argentina Temple. Its' status now shows: "Major construction nearing completion; construction estimated to be completed in early 2025", and the temple has been moved up to being just below the Farmington New Mexico and Grand Junction Colorado Temples. So it appears that any of these three temples, or the Antofagasta Chile or Nairobi Kenya Temples might soon have their open houses and dedications announced in the near term. Based on what my research showss , the Church has a much easier time arranging openings for temples in the Americas than it does for temples elsewhere in the world.
DeleteSo what does this mean for the potential timing of those dedications when they are announced? That may be anyone's guess. But it could be that any of the 5 temples I named above could have their dedications in the first half of this year still. depending on how soon each is announced. ANd speaking of future announcements, barring anything unexpected, I assume the Church will resume weekly temple announcements on Monday during the 2:00 PM MST hour here in Utah. So stay tuned for my coverage of all such announcements. My thanks once again to you all.
On this Thursday, the Church has released six new chapters in the Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Russell M. Nelson manual, for a total of 10 released so far. And Brother Bradley R. (Brad) Wilcox, First Counselor in the Young Men General Presidency, shares insights from three of his fellow BYU professors on the 2025 Youth theme. My thanks once again to you all.
ReplyDeleteYesterday's Newsroom report sharing President Nelson's New Year's Day 2025 post, has been updated to now also include a message from President Dallin H. Oaks, President Nelson's First Counselor, suggesting that at least the entire First Presidency, if not all living apostles, may have New Year's messages featured in the same Newsroom release. Stay tuned for more on that as this year progresses. Also, by way of reminder, on January 14, President Nelson will mark his seventh anniversary as Church President. I don't know what Church News or Newsroom content might be published regarding that milestone, but the extent of that coverage will determine whether I acknowledge that milestone in either a comment on a post here or in a brand new post focused on that milestone. My thanks once again to you all.
DeleteThe Church News has also reported on President Oaks: social media post for the New Year. My thanks once again to you all.
DeleteThe Church News has published the next article looking back at temple milestones in 2024. The newest report featured information about site locations that were announced last year. My thanks once again to you all.
DeleteAn update has been reported for the Stockholm Sweden Temple. My thanks once again to you all.
DeleteOn this Friday, the Newsroom and the Church News shared a social media message from President Henry B. Eyring, Second Counselor in the First Presidency. I don't know if each member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will do one throughout the next 12 weeks, but it's possible. Speaking of social media, we turn our attention to "This Week on Social", which, in addition to resharing the 3 New Year's posts from our current First Presidency members, featured posts from the following general leaders:
ReplyDeleteElder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Sister J. Anette Dennis, First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency; Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman and her Second Counselor, Sister Andrea Munoz Spannaus; Primary General President Susan H. Porter; and Young Men General President Steven J. Lund and his First Counselor, Brother Bradley R. (Brad) Wilcox.
The Church News also shared another article in the "Temple Milestones in 202r" series. A new Church News video highlights the Tabernacle Choir's 2024 Christmas Concert. The Newsroom and the Church News shared the latest on the Salt Lake Temple renovation process.
Finally, the Church News shared <a href="https://www.thechurchnews.com/living-faith/2025/01/03/2025-youth-theme-general-conference-talks-look-to-christ/: >7 quotes</a> from General Conference on the 2025 youth theme. My thanks once again to you all.
