Hello. I am posting today for a very exciting reason. When I made my first check of the LDS Church Temples website, I was initially very disappointed to see that no progress has been noted on temples now under construction. But those disappointed feelings faded away very quickly when I looked at the information about announced temples.
Just between the last time I checked the site and now, there has been sufficient reason enough to warrant noting that a groundbreaking announcement is anticipated soon for the Arequipa Peru Temple. That was great to hear.
The one question in my mind, which I am trying to get resolved in the best possible way, is whether the site announcement and groundbreaking ceremony for the Harare Zimbabwe Temple may take place before the groundbreaking in Arequipa. Since it is difficult to tell, I would welcome any thoughts in that direction. For the moment, my line of thinking is that since the Arequipa groundbreaking appears to be more imminent than the unfolding of events in Harare. it is Arequipa that should be listed first. I will change that in the posted report below. Feel free to let me know your thoughts and feelings on this matter. If it comes to a point where I need to change it again, I am more than willing to do that. Just let me know what you think, if you feel inclined to do so.
Here's my updated report:

Although we don't have enough information to know for sure, I think it is safe to assume that the groundbreaking in Arequipa will take place before the groundbreaking in Harare where we still don't have a site announcement.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rick! I appreciate your confirmation of something I already believed that this would be the case, but it's so nice to have that belief confirmed. I was reasonably certain this would be your answer, but thought it would be better to ask. That said, I do apologize if I have missed any message you may have sent my way recently. Circumstances have prevented me from regularly checking my e-mail. So I appreciate hearing from you here. As I stated to you before, the comment section here is currently the very best way to reach me. Thanks again for letting me know your thoughts. Please keep me posted on anything else that may come to your attention in regards to temple news and developments. I do my best to regularly follow your site, and so far, that's not been hard to do, especially because of the flexibility in terms of what I am allowed to do during downtime at work, but I so appreciate these insights you are always so willing to provide. Thanks for your labor of love. Hope you know that I appreciate your efforts, which continue to make a profound difference in my life many times a day.
ReplyDeleteJames, you have mentioned that your dad was originally from St. George. I grew up there. How much family do you have there? Most of my relatives on my dad's side for many generations are from that area.
ReplyDeleteWell, my dad's parents have lived in St. George all of my dad's now 61 years. His dad died in 2000, and his mom passed away in August last year. He still has his two youngest brothers living there. The oldest of the two has inherited my gradma's house, by virtue of him and his wife being her primary caregivers for the last several years. My dad's youngest brother lives not far from that same house, and he coaches some football in Dixie. He's changed which team he is over a couple of times now, so I'm not sure who it is he coaches now. Not much of a football fan myself, but by all reports, he's good at what he does. Does that answer your question? Thanks, as always, Chris!
